Hollin Hall Re-homing Centre

Superb Facilities

We are delighted to announce that the William Hill funded re-homing centre for retired greyhounds, situated at the kennels of Alison Waggott, opened on Monday 3rd. October 2006.

The William Hill funded centre has been purpose-built to accommodate retired greyhounds from the Sunderland Stadium. and is operated by Alison Waggott, who is currently attached as a contract trainer to Sunderland Stadium.

Introduce The Greyhounds To A Home Environment

The centre has been designed in such a way as to introduce ex-racing greyhounds into the home environment. Each kennel will accommodate two greyhounds and the sleeping area, as opposed to racing kennels, will contain a raised area with duvet type cushions to get the dogs used to home comforts.

Superb Facilities

There is a corridor leading off to 11 seperate kennels and at the end of this corridor is a room specifically designed to represent the inside of an ordinary house. This room will contain a TV, washing machine, settee and chairs and the idea is that each of the geryhounds will be let out during the day, free to wander in this area, thus getting them used to domestic surroundings. This is also the area where the prospective re-homing candidates will be able to acquiant themselves with the greyhounds available.

Retired greyhounds make wonderful pets. If you are interested in providing a loving home for one of these wonderful pets then please call Alison on 07876077093.
